Terms of Service
Last updated: July 20, 2026
The short version: your words are yours. Be decent. We’ll do our best to keep the room quiet and the work safe.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of NEWPROTEST Writer (“the Service”), operated by NEWPROTEST Publishing of Olympia, Washington (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service
NEWPROTEST Writer is a tool for drafting, organizing, and privately sharing written work. It is currently offered by invitation, and we may add, change, or discontinue features over time.
Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Your content
You own the work you create. We do not claim ownership of your writing. To operate the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, back up, and display your content to you — and to the specific people you choose to share it with — solely to provide the Service. You are responsible for the content you create and share, and you represent that you have the rights to it.
Sharing
You control what you share. Content you publish to the shared Library is readable by other signed-in members; content you share with a Trusted Reader is readable, read-only, by that person. Your private Notes are never shared. Sharing is always your deliberate choice and is never automatic.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- store or share content that is unlawful, infringing, or that violates the rights of others;
- harass, abuse, or harm other users;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service; or
- misuse invitations or attempt to circumvent access controls.
Invitations
Invitations are provided so you can bring people you trust into the Service. They are for personal, good-faith use and may not be sold, transferred, or used to abuse the Service.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated or to protect the Service and its users. We will make reasonable efforts to let you export your work where practical.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we take care to protect your work, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NEWPROTEST Publishing will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising out of your use of the Service.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
